Why would you want to take a screenshot, you may ask? A screenshot can be helpful in many different situations. Screenshots are a quick and easy way to show someone else exactly what you’re seeing on your screen. Screenshots are also helpful if you see something on the computer and you don’t want to forget it. Or if you are playing a game and want to take a picture of it. Or if you need proof of something. The list can go on and on.
Because I’ve been asked quite a few times how to take a screenshot, I figured it’d be a useful thing to post for those who don’t know how to take one.
First, look at the top right corner of your keyboard (typically) and find a button called Print Screen or PrtSc
Press that key (sometimes you will have to press an Alt or fn key as well, which is most commonly found at the bottom left side of your keyboard) and it will take a screenshot of your entire computer screen.
Now open up a program like Paint, and paste the picture (press Ctrl + V) and then crop it (if you wish) and save it to your computer.
If you want to upload your screenshot to the internet, go to a website like flickr.com or imageshack.us and upload it.
Feel free to test it out by replying to this blog with a picture of your screenshot!
